I need help on how to tune an acoustic guitar?

I have an acoustic guitar, and my only problemis I dont know how to tune it. It has a tunner on it except eveytime i try to tune it, it tells me the my other stings need to be tuned. My tuner is on the side of the guitar by notes (d,a,e) I really need help. Online tuners wont help.

That’s just something I made up. So, how would I figure out what chord this is? Or for that matter, any other finger combination?

aren’t guitar tabs out of fashion now, i mean guitar tabs are just an easy way out for people who haven’t actually learnt notes and chords… what do you think about this, cause i searched for guitar lead notes for wake me up when september ends on google,, and all i got were tabs! please send me the notes someone!!!!

i don’t know how to play the guitar, but can read music exceptionally well from playing the piano. i’m trying to tune my dad’s acoutic guitar that he got when he tried to learn(he failed which is why he doesn’t know) and need to know what the notes are supposed to be. and does anybody know any good ways to learn how to play on your own?
i don’t know, its an acoustic, thats all i know. are the notes different from a bass?
